Tweeting Assignment

 Our first big project for our social media class was a live-tweeting assignment. I was so

confused and had no idea of what to cover when Dr. Aggie explained the assignment. I had

been slammed with homework and practices every day, so I was struggling with what event

to do but that's when I thought of doing it on my favorite team, the Chicago Bulls. I have

been watching the Bulls my entire life and I would consider them my favorite team now.

Honestly, I like whatever Chicago team is doing the best, regardless of the sport, that is

except the White Sox. That is where I draw the line. As a Cub’s fan, I am forced to hate

them with a passion. With that out of the way, I can go back to talking about the Bulls game.

It was a well fought battle between the Atlanta Hawks and Chicago Bulls. Late in the 4th

quarter, Trae Young the star player on the Hawks hit back-to-back threes to win the game.

This was a disappointing loss because the Bulls are ranked 2nd in the East and the Hawks

are ranked only 10th. Hopefully this loss will motivate the Bulls for their next game, so they

beat last year’s championship team the Milwaukee Bucks This project was a lot more

challenging than I expected. I had only used Twitter once before in my life and it was to

tweet about a video game. I struggled with the mechanics of how to tweet and where to add

hashtags. I think I did well on the project and can’t wait to see my grade. #EasyA

Second Week of Second Semester

  I’m Matt Wilder and I am back with my second blog as a lacrosse student-athlete. Last week, I confessed I didn’t want these to turn into therapy sessions. Since my second week wasn't much better, let me just lie down on the couch and tell you all about it. First, some of the positives. I got a 94% on my first blog and didn't have to practice three times in one day. With that out of the way, we can get to the other stuff. Monday I was almost late to my hardest class this semester, so the week was off to a bad start. Later that night after practice, my legs felt sore, and I didn’t know why. Me being the genius I am, I did nothing about the pain and instead talked to my girlfriend on the phone until midnight. Tuesday is my most relaxed day when it comes to classes, but our afternoon practice was tough. We compete the most on Tuesdays and at the start of practice, I could barely walk. Freshman Year

Matt Wilder, your lacrosse student-athlete with my last blog of the year. Looking back on my time as a freshman, I can honestly say it was nothing like how I thought it would be. It felt like my first year at college went by in a blink of an eye. Admittedly, I didn’t feel that way at first. I had a crazy start to college and not necessarily in a fun or good way. If you recall, I had suffered a seizure and sprained my wrist during the 2 nd week of school. Because of my anger, I alienated teammates and even coaches. I was not into school and felt I had no one here to talk to or relate to me. Not wanting to give up, I worked to turn that all around. I ended my 1 st semester with a 3.6 GPA , I rebuilt my relationships with teammates and coaches and through that struggle I realized if I put in the work, I could do anything.
